Qatargas Operating Company has exciting opportunities available for qualified professionals to join our company in the development of the vast North Field in Qatar. Qatargas currently has under development over $20 billion worth of major projects, including the construction of four new Liquefied Natural Gas trains for the production and export of LNG to every corner of the globe.

Maintenance Department Opco

Lead Mechanical Engineer

Plant equipment trouble shooting, Root Cause analysis (RCA) studies and implementation & and follow up of Long Term Service Agreements (LTSA), expert in rotating equipment with good knowledge of static equipment, familiar with working in a strong Asset Management (preferably SAP) and Asset Performance Management (such as Meridium) environment. Strong in understanding, development and implementation of Maintenance Business Processes related to a modern chemical and oil/gas processing plants. Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering together Minimum 12 years experience in designing, commissioning, maintenance of projects/plants associated with production and processing facilities in the oil and gas industry including minimum 6 years in multi-discipline and multi-skill environment possessing good skills in organization and supervision of work, planning and scheduling of activities, and cost control responsibilities. Experience in onshore and offshore oil and gas plants including storage and loading facilities would be preferred.

Senior Maintenance Planning Engineer

Provides Maintenance Planning and Scheduling support activities for the assets (plants) through close coordination with Asset Maintenance Disciplines, Operations, Engineering and Safety. Supervises and guides a team of Maintenance Planners in their functions and takes the lead in defining. Ensures the functionality of all work flows and processes that sustain a reliable Asset Performance Management System. Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline together with minimum of 10 years planning and coordination experience / skills. Proficient in project schedule development, monitoring and control. Excellent skills in planning software applications e.g. Microsoft Project, Primavera. Extensive work experience in CMMS applications and SAP. Good knowledge of Materials, their control and Warehouse procedures. Demonstrable ability of involvement in an Enterprise Asset Performance Management Process such as Meridium will be an advantage.

Maintenance Department ESU

Mechanical Engineer

Trouble-shooting, performance monitoring and calculation of critical machinery such as pumps, compressors and gas turbines. Familiar with Selection criteria of static and rotating equipment. Familiar with international standards related with static and rotating equipment. Vibration analysis and predictive / preventive maintenance. Good management skill to manage around 10 to 15 technicians. Candidates with the following experience will be favorable, Maintenance / Installation / Commissioning and start-up of mechanical equipment static and rotating equipment. Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineer with minimum 8 to 10 years experience in Oil and Gas industry. Fluent in English (oral and writing). Good computer literate.

Metering System Engineer

Supervises, plans and coordinates activities for the maintenance, safe operation and functionality of various fiscal metering systems which include gas, LNG, condensate and sulphur services associated with process operations in all plant areas plus takes responsibility for providing metering procedures, standards and validation techniques for the existing and newly installed meters. Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, or Control Systems Engineering or equivalent together with 8 years relevant experience in modern metering systems. Good written and spoken English.

Instrument Engineer

Supervises plans and coordinates activities for the maintenance, safe operation and functionality of all instruments, modern regulatory control, TMR based process safety and emergency shutdown systems associated with process operations in all plant areas. Provides supervision and technical direction over preventive and breakdown maintenance based on CMMS / RCM strategies Participates in the preparation of modifications/projects and shutdown requirements. Exposure to Foundation Field Bus technology is desirable. Bachelors Degree in instrumentation, or Control Systems Engineering or equivalent together with 8 years maintenance experience, including at least 5 years of supervisory experience in a modern Oil & Gas or a Petrochemical plant which uses DCS / TMR / PLC technology. Good written and spoken English.

Control system Engineer

Supervises plans and coordinates activities for the maintenance, safe operation and functionality of integrated control systems (ICS) which include DCS, TMR based process safety and emergency shutdown systems, various types of PLCs associated with process operations in all plant areas. Based on CMMS / RCM strategies, provides technical direction to preventive and breakdown maintenance. Participates in the preparation of modifications/projects and shutdown requirements. Exposure to Foundation Field Bus technology is desirable. Bachelor’s Degree in instrumentation, or Control Systems Engineering or equivalent together with 8 years maintenance experience, including at least 5 years as a Control System Engineer in a modern oil & gas or a petrochemical plant which uses DCS / TMR / PLC technology. Good written and spoken English.

Electrical Control Engineer

Review/approve electrical testing plans (ITPs), pre-commissioning, and commissioning/start-up procedures. Oversee the PMC activities related to ELICS/PMS electrical works and responsible for ensuring that ELICS/PMS electrical works during the commissioning and startup periods are successfully completed, organizing/coordinating all ELICS/PMS electrical works during the startup phase. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent together with minimum 7 years hands-on experience in Electrical protection/control commissioning, start-up and maintenance including at least 5 years in a supervisory position. Good written and spoken English and good PC Knowledge, technical experience in Electrical Integrated Control and Power Management Systems (ELICS/PMS). Specific involvement in design development, construction, commissioning and Start-Up of ABB and/or Schneider ELICS/PMS for large LNG projects or other major Oil and Gas process facilities would be an advantage.

Engineering Department Opco

Rotating Equipment Engineer – OPCO

To analyses existing or proposed rotating equipment and turbo-machinery including systems for onshore plant and offshore production facilities and review engineering design work connected with minor or major projects, for modifications to the existing facilities or installation of new rotating equipment. To study and analyze complex or recurring problems relating to rotating equipment recommending appropriate solutions. Responsible for shop and field test, start-up or overhaul procedures, QA/QC on rotating equipment, troubleshooting, reliability improvement review, maintains and updates equipment drawings, standards, procedures and specifications. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering together with 10 year’s experience in design and maintenance of rotating equipment with at least 5 year’s in the petroleum / gas processing plant. Must have experience with one or more of Frame 5, 7, 9 turbines and their use live compressor drivers. Cryogenic pumping experience would be an advantage, preferably in LNG. While design office experience is beneficial, a plant operating background is essential. Good written and spoken English.

Offshore Operations Department (onshore based position)

Maintenance Engineer - Electrical & Instrument (Offshore)

Provides support for the Mechanical, Electrical & Instrument maintenance of field equipment. Contributes to the overall planning & execution of major shutdowns. Provide technical advice to Mechanical, Electrical & Instrument Supervisors in consultation with the On-shore Electrical and Instrument Engineers on a regular basis and leads / participate in troubleshooting complex and recurring equipment faults. Initiates service requests for all contract services and administration of the contracts. Act as an onshore focal point for all matters related to Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation repair, modifications, material, Co-ordinate actions with Engineering, SE&Q Supply, Inspection, other maintenance disciplines and outside agencies. Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering together with 8 years maintenance experience in the oil and gas or similar industry and offshore maintenance is desirable. Good written and spoken English.
